1.INTRODUCTION TO BIOLOGY

The term biology came from two Greek words which are "BIOS" and " LOGOS"

The word BIOS means life and the word LOGOS means study  

         Therefore the BIOLOGY is the study of life

BRANCHES OF BIOLOGY 

Basically there are two main branches of biology(Botany and Zoology)

Botany: Is the study of plants

Zoology: is the study of animals  

• Apart from botany and zoology there are other branches of biology 

1. Cytology: is the study of cell
2. Mycology: is the study of fungi
3. Parasitology: is the study of insects 
4. Taxonomy: is the study of classification
5. Immunology: is the study of immunity
6. Anatomy: is the study of internal structure of organism
7. Physiology: is the study of physical appearance of organism
8. .Ecology: is the study of relationship between organism and their environment
